Sophie Dimitriw Wins Culinary Federation’s Young Chef Competition

McMaster Hospitality Services is proud to announce that Sophie Dimitriw, an apprentice in our Hospitality Services Apprenticeship Programme, has won the Culinary Federation’s Young Chef Competition for the Central Region on February 22, 2025.
Sophie’s victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent she has demonstrated throughout her apprenticeship. As part of the Apprenticeship Programme – a longstanding program at Hospitality Services that supports aspiring chefs, Sophie has gained valuable experience while working toward her Red Seal certification. The apprenticeship allows staff members to complete the required hours and pursue this certification, marking them as highly skilled professionals in the culinary field.
This win means Sophie will represent both the Central Region team and Hospitality Services at the National Competition in Moncton, NB, in May 2025. We are excited to support Sophie as she continues her journey in the culinary world, and we look forward to seeing her compete at the national level.
